Water Questions

Our standard bottle contains 18.9 litres of Pure English Rock Filtered Water. We also supply 11 litre bottles.

Our water is tested in house every day and is externally verified weekly at Northumbrian Water Scientific Services laboratory based at Horsley Northumberland . Additionally, Northumbrian Water Scientific Services conduct an annual mineral content analyse of our pure English Rock Filtered water. Click here for a detailed breakdown of Seaton Spring’s mineral content.

There is no requirement to treat our water. At 438 feet down it is drawn from the deepest shaft of its kind in the UK; this is the depth of the limestone aquifer which our water has permeated giving it its unique mineral make up (for mineral make up click here). All that is required is for this pure water to be passed through a coarse filter before being delivered fresh to our clients. Fancy coming to see our borehole? Our shaft is housed in an imposing Victorian pumping station, we love giving people a brief tour; standing on top of the hand dug brick lined 480’ feet deep shaft is quite an experience. We’d appreciate a couple of hours’ notice if you dig want a viewing but if you do fancy a tour just give us a ring on 0191 513 1234 and we’ll be ready when you get here.

Most of our customers are on four weekly routes although high volume customers are called on fortnightly. We call a day or two before the route goes out to confirm that you require a delivery. If you run out unexpectedly, unlike many of our competitors, we do not have a surcharge for an off route delivery – we aim to get to you within 48 hours.

Common Questions

Our polypropylene or PP cups are recyclable and as a material PP consumes the least amount of energy during production and produces the lowest carbon dioxide emissions when compared to other plastics. It is for this reason that many famous High Street food brands such as Starbucks and McDonald's have switched to polypropylene cups.

Our bottles are both re-usable and can be recycled at the end of their useful life.

Bottle Fed Watercoolers – Our coolers are sanitised every three months as per British Watercooler Association guidelines by which we are governed. We are unique in the North East region as we rotate our clients Bottle Fed Watercoolers every quarter. Therefore, unlike our competitors who attempt to sanitise on your premises we provide you every three months with a pristine, PAT tested Watercooler which has been cleaned, sanitised and serviced in our own custom built clean room. Mains Connected Watercoolers - Our coolers are sanitised every three months as per British Watercooler Association guidelines by which we are governed. We sanitise using a portable ozone generator in order to kill off any unwanted bacteria. Ozone is the perfect environmental sanitise as it dissolves rapidly and leaves no after taste or odour. At the same time as our on-site sanitisation our Engineer will give your watercooler a full clean down and check over followed by a PAT test.

Bottle Fed – Yes our coolers are PAT tested every time that they leave our premises following sanitisation therefore as a rental customer you can rest assured that your Watercooler has been PAT tested within the last three months. Mains Connected Watercoolers – Yes our Mains Connected Watercoolers are PAT tested immediately prior to installation and then at each subsequent on-site sanitisation visit therefore as a rental customer you can rest assured that your Watercooler has been PAT tested within the last six months.
